SOLID-LIQUID SEPARATORS

The solid-liquid phase separation is carried out in order to separate the solids that are insoluble in water, either settleable or suspended with a specific gravity greater than water, for which a driving force is used. In the case of clarifiers and settlers the driving force is gravity, in the case of hydrocyclones this same force is coupled with the centrifugal force caused by the hydraulic configuration of the system and, in the case of filters, the driving force is the pressure gradient.
